Processing
HP 9 is used as a base coat for interior (including damp rooms) and exterior applications. HP 9 can be applied to all types of masonry as well as rough-formed concrete, pumice concrete and poured concrete. In the case of highly absorbent substrates and very warm weather, sufficient pre-wetting is required. If necessary, the plaster must be moistened with water after application. Concrete ceilings should be prepared with HP 14 lime-based plaster using a notched trowel. Once this has hardened sufficiently, HP 9 is sprayed on to a thickness of approx. 10 mm. HP 9 can be processed with all standard plastering machines and transported in all common conveyor systems. Please refer to the machine manufacturer's operating instructions. For manual application, mix the contents of the bag with approx. 7 litres of water/bag in a free-fall mixer, compulsory mixer or with a stirring paddle. The plaster thickness is 20 mm on the outside and 15 mm on the inside. After application, HP 9 is levelled with a float. Work room by room. Remove any sintered skin that may occur. Areas with increased application thickness and concrete or Styrodur surfaces covered with lime-based plaster must be pre-sprayed. Only finish after the plaster has set. The finished plaster should be left to stand for at least 1 day/mm application thickness before being painted with mineral paint (e.g. HP 9000 lime-casein paint, HP 9100 slaked lime paint) or covered with a mineral finishing plaster (e.g. HP 90 lime fine plaster, HP 900 lime smoothing compound). In certain cases (e.g. excessive strength, old buildings, unfavourable weather conditions, etc.), a longer standing time is necessary.
Composition
HP 9 is a mineral-based dry mortar of mortar group P Ic in accordance with DIN 18557 and DIN 18550, based on natural hydraulic lime, limestone and quartz sand, with a small amount of cellulose added. HP9 contains no synthetic binders, is highly diffusion-open (diffusion resistance factor µ = 6) and is resistant to fungi and mould.
