Stirrers and agitators for clay plaster
Proper mixing is particularly important for clay plaster. The vigorous kneading of the plaster mixture causes the mixing water to be forced into the clay minerals. This is the only way to create the plaster's adhesive effect. The adhesive effect can be achieved just as well by prolonged soaking, but that is often not feasible on the construction site.
There are stirrers with one or two counter-rotating agitator arms for a thorough mixing of a clay plaster. Of course, an agitator with two mixing spirals does a much more effective job than a one-armed mixer. With this two-armed forced agitator, similar to a mixer, the clay is moved between the mixing spirals. In agitators with just one mixing helix, the clay is turned around itself. This means that sufficient mixing takes significantly longer.

Good stationary mixers for clay plaster also work like a compulsory mixer. These horizontal mixing drums are filled with the raw materials from above, and the plaster is removed from the underside via an outlet.

Plastering machines for clay plaster
There are two types of plastering machines: plastering machines for dry, ready-to-use mixes (screw pumps) and plastering machines for earth-moist clay plasters (mortar conveyors). In addition to the earth-moist mixture, mortar conveying machines can also process dry mixtures and are usually very flexible in use. Screw pumps, on the other hand, can only process dry clay plaster or other ready-to-use mixes.
A mortar conveyor is a real luxury for people who regularly work with clay plaster a lot. Mortar conveyors are suitable for earth-moist clay and even for your own construction site mixes.
Particularly noteworthy: the S5 from Putzmeister. A hard-wearing and robust machine that has proven itself many times in earth building. This S5 is available as a simple feed pump or optionally combined with an attached 80 liter compulsory mixer. The compulsory mixer mixes the clay very quickly and effectively, the contents of the mixer are perfectly matched to the machine hopper. With this machine, it is possible to apply up to 160 liters of finished plaster mixture in a single operation. This S5 with a built-on plate mixer (S5EVTM) can be used equally for base, topcoat or fine plasters. The infinitely variable motor allows the flow rate to be adjusted according to the conditions and the respective requirements.
All machine parts are very robust and designed for a long service life. For example, the screws of the machine have a significantly longer service life than the screws of other plastering machines. Any spare parts that may be required are dispatched quickly thanks to competent workshops and a good spare parts service.
Smaller and handy plastering machines
The S5 described above is very powerful, but also very large. In addition to such fully automatic machines, there are also handy models that are suitable for the trunk, for example from the construction machinery manufacturer PFT. These conveying machines do not mix any plaster, but are fed with the already finished mixture. A machine that is very common in earth building circles is their N2V. (Unfortunately this machine is no longer in production, but is offered again and again as a used device.)Newer machines from PFT are the devices of the "Swing" series. These handy devices can be used directly without any special equipment.
There are also machines especially for thin-layer clay plasters that work with less advance flow and high air pressure. The selection of the right machine for the clay plaster depends on the building materials (or the variety of building materials) that are to be processed, the required conveying distance and the technical requirements on site (is there a 360 V connection or only 220 V, is there water to etc.).

Plaster thrower for clay plaster
The plastering machine for small use. The ready-mixed clay is filled into the funnel and from there blown onto the wall with compressed air. The plaster thrower is a simple and uncomplicated aid when plastering wall surfaces that are too large for pure manual work.
The most important accessory for this is a compressor with a high air output of at least 250 l/min.
Surface treatment machines for clay plaster
Surfaces of a clay plaster are rubbed, sponged or smoothed. For large surfaces, machine support for the plaster finish is a great relief. The surface finishing is done much faster with a plaster finishing machine and is also even more energy-saving.
Different attachments enable smoothing or sponging of clay plaster, even the production of a scratch plaster surface is possible with the right attachment.
