Strongly rustic grading “as grown” (=wild oak), i.e. larger drying cracks and knot holes are permitted and not filled. Wormholes, bark inclusions, and open knots may occur. Long and wide cracks, as well as a higher sapwood proportion, are possible. The product cannot be factory-filled.

Sorting distinctive with heavy worm marks, i.e. drying cracks and knot holes, as well as open knots and wormholes are permitted and are standardly filled black. Only available as a strongly contrasted, heavily flamed surface.

Black pin knots up to 5 mm and sound tight knots up to 10% of the plank width + 40 mm are allowed. Dead and loose knots, knot holes, and decayed knots are replaced with a knot plug up to max. 40 mm of the same wood species. Tight wing knots up to 10% of the width + 30 mm are allowed. Resin pockets up to 2 mm × 25 mm, as well as up to three resin pockets up to 5 mm wide and totaling 700 mm in length, may occur. Cracks of 1.5 mm width and up to 150 mm length are allowed; larger cracks up to 3 mm width and across the plank width are filled. End cracks are allowed up to ½ of the plank width. Ring shakes, fungus, and insect damage are not allowed. Pith up to 1/3 of the board length and max. 7 mm width is allowed. Natural color variation except blue stain may occur, as well as occasional light bark inclusion. Wane is only allowed on the backside if tongue and groove are intact over ¾ of the board length.

Very durable heartwood, coarse-pored, hand-worked and sanded knot areas with partially intentional sanding marks. Knot holes, loose knots, and open cracks are intentional and not filled. Sound sapwood and wormholes may occur. The end and longitudinal edges are chamfered and irregularly hand-finished. The surface is heavily brushed. All typical wood characteristics may occur.
