Which natural paint suits which room?
Depending on the substrate and the requirements of the room, different natural paints are suitable. Clay paints stand out with their fine, matt surface and a very pleasant feel in the room. Lime paints are ideal if you want to counter moisture and reduce the risk of mould, for example in bathrooms or unheated rooms. Silicate paints adhere very well to mineral substrates and are particularly durable. Together we will work out which paint suits your wall build-up and your requirements.
Advantages of natural paints compared with conventional paints
Natural paints contain far fewer problematic ingredients than many conventional emulsion paints. They are generally vapour-permeable, support a balanced indoor climate and have a positive effect on odour and wellbeing. Particularly in bedrooms and children's rooms, but also in sensitive areas such as practice rooms or holiday flats, they provide a good basis for a balanced indoor climate. Many of our natural paints can also easily be recoated or refreshed in a new colour later on.
Applying natural paints correctly – substrate & preparation
For natural paints to adhere well and reach their full potential, the substrate is crucial. What matters is a sound, load-bearing surface, the right absorbency and the correct pre-treatment. On clay or lime plaster, application is usually straightforward; on old coats of paint or plasterboard, a suitable primer is often needed. At Lehm-Laden, we help you assess your substrate: you can send us photos and a short description, and we will recommend suitable products and the right build-up.
Colour shades, samples and individual advice
Natural paints don't have to mean “alternative beige”: from warm earth tones to delicate pastels and bold accents, almost anything is possible. Many systems offer ready-made colour fans, and custom mixes to RAL/NCS are possible for almost all paints.
