Professional clay paint No. 331

AURO Profi-Lehmfarbe Nr. 331 is a ready-to-use clay paint for living spaces, made without added preservatives. It is suitable for all interior wall substrates and, thanks to its splash-water resistance, can even be used in bathrooms and kitchens. Its muted colours give it an elegant and appealing look.

The biogenic binder REPLEBIN®, developed in-house by AURO research, provides very good abrasion resistance (wet scrub class 3, washable according to DIN 53778) with hiding power class 2. The light-coloured, non-granular clay produces a fine, smooth finish.

Anwendung & Verarbeitung

Apply to evenly white substrates or after priming with clay paint diluted with max. 10 % water or with AURO Fine Adhesion Primer No. 505. Substrates with highly uneven absorbency should first be treated with AURO Deep Penetrating Primer No. 301. Then apply 1 to 2 coats of the clay paint.

Tip: For a clean finish, first paint the edges and corners with a brush, then quickly go over the surfaces with a roller.

Is the professional clay paint suitable for bathrooms and kitchens?

Yes. The paint is splash-resistant, so it can also be used in bathrooms and kitchens, not just in conventional living spaces.

What makes clay paint special compared with emulsion paints?

Clay paints regulate humidity, are vapour-permeable and moisture-regulating – this ensures a more balanced indoor climate than conventional synthetic wall paints.

How abrasion-resistant is the paint finish?

The paint achieves wet abrasion class 3 and is wash-resistant according to DIN 53778 – sufficiently robust for living spaces under normal use.

Do I need to pre-treat the substrate?

Evenly white substrates can be painted directly. Otherwise, prime with clay paint diluted by max. 10 % or AURO Haftgrund fein Nr. 505; substrates with highly uneven absorbency should first be given a coat of AURO Tiefengrund Nr. 301.

How many coats are needed?

As a rule, 1 to 2 coats are sufficient for an even result.

No – Profi-Lehmfarbe No. 331 contains no added preservatives.
