Earth-moist clay finish coat plaster for ready-made, natural surfaces

conluto earth-moist clay finish coat plaster is the natural final coating for prepared interior wall surfaces. The blend of clay, sand, and barley straw creates a matte, vibrant surface with a classic clay character—ideal when the wall is intended to look naturally authentic rather than merely plastered.

Proper Application of Clay Finish Plaster

conluto earth-moist clay finish coat plaster is applied to a level, structurally sound, and dry substrate in a layer 5–10 mm thick—usually in a single pass. It is applied by hand using a trowel or with a suitable plastering machine designed for earth-moist clay and grain sizes up to 5 mm.

After application, the surface is leveled with a straightedge or plastering rail. The plastering float densifies the surface and makes it firmer. The sponge float  evens things out more uniformly, but leaves the surface somewhat more open.

Leave the rustic clay finish coat plaster as is or refine it further.

Those who prefer a natural, rustic clay surface can leave the topcoat visible after drying. A transparent finish can be particularly effective on sponged surfaces. casein primer can be useful for consolidating the surface and reducing dusting, without significantly altering the clay's vapor-permeable nature.

For colored or finer surfaces, the clay topcoat can be further built up after it has completely dried – for example, with clay paint, brush applied  clay plaster , clay fine finish plaster or coloured deco clay facing plaster. This keeps the wall structure natural and breathable, while the surface can be precisely tailored to the desired interior style.
