Sound sapwood up to about 1/5 of the board width allowed; knot diameter up to about 2/5 of the board width allowed – measured on the narrow side; knots and holes that allow straight-through view are not permitted; width of dry cracks in knots up to 8% of knot diameter allowed; surface crack width up to 2% of board width allowed; bark inclusions occasionally allowed; slanting cracks (peeling) not permitted; wormholes may occur and are not filled, grading based on visual aspects.

When additionally filled:
