Plaster base for wooden substrates
Reed mesh is a well-established plaster base for clay plaster or lime plaster on wood. The spaces between the reed stems and the rough surface of the reed ensure that the plaster adheres well to the reed fabric.
The reed fabric is attached to the wooden substructure with staples, and the clay plaster is then applied by hand or with a plastering machine. The reed is used as a plaster base on wood. For connecting half-timbered beams in old houses or on OSB panels in modern timber frame construction. As an alternative to clay building boards, this reed fabric is used in combination with wooden formwork. Wall heaters are attached to the fabric if necessary. Both are then plastered with clay in several layers.
The reed fabric extra is an extra strong reed fabric of the best quality, it is also suitable for demanding applications such as plaster base for sloping roofs, curves or permanent formwork. Only straws of the highest quality are used for this reed weave, straight, even and stable. The reed stems are tied every 10 cm with a 0.5 mm strong, galvanized binding wire and a 0.7 mm strong running wire.
