Straw board: the straw plaster base board for modern interior fit-out

Straw board

Straw boards are building materials made from compressed straw and a binder. Conluto straw boards are easy to install and fully suitable for Cradle to Cradle.

Child's play to work with

Straw boards are easy to work with and can be cut to size with standard tools such as a circular saw or a jigsaw. They can be easily fixed in the desired position with screws or staples and offer an alternative made from renewable straw to conventional building materials.

The board can easily be held with one hand and screwed in place with the other.

One 22 mm board weighs only 3.8 kg!!!

Farewell to gypsum

The smell of straw is pleasant and fragrant. A pleasant living atmosphere is already noticeable during construction – no comparison with working with plasterboard and white gypsum dust!

Straw board for interior fit-out

The 22 mm boards are screwed as plaster base boards onto a continuous substrate or a substructure with 31.25 cm grid spacing.

The 30 mm board can be installed on a continuous substrate or on a substructure with 62.5 cm spacing.

Both boards can be installed on walls and ceilings; the subsequent plaster build-up is: clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar with mesh and fine plaster (decorative finishing plaster, smoothing coat, paint...).

Alternatively, you can also use wall and ceiling primer, base coat plaster up to 15 mm with mesh and finishing plaster on top.

Straw board is a thing of the past – discover the upgrade now:

As we are discontinuing the straw board, we are now offering you the lightweight hemp clay building board as a technically superior alternative. It combines the lightness of the straw board with the ability of clay to buffer fluctuations in indoor air humidity – for even easier installation and a perfect finish.
