Finishing trowel with a plastic blade. With decorative finishing plasters, using stainless steel trowels can leave a grey haze caused by abrasion. Plastic finishing trowels are designed to remove the last trowel marks and so produce a finished decorative plaster surface. The blade is 1 mm thick, which still makes it somewhat softer than a 0.5 mm stainless steel blade. The plastic wears during use. Depending on how firmly you use the trowel, the wear will be more or less pronounced. I recommend removing the burr that forms regularly so that you always achieve a good finish.
