Safflower rag wax

KREIDEZEIT Safflower Rag Wax corresponds to Rag Wax but uses safflower oil instead of linseed oil, so it hardly yellows at all: white stays white. This makes it ideal for light-coloured surfaces and surfaces tinted with titanium white. Usually applied with a cloth; for large areas it can be diluted 1:1 with gum turpentine oil and applied by brush.

The beeswax fills the pores and creates a surface that is warm and pleasant to the touch; it has been gently decolourised without chemical bleaching. Can be tinted with KREIDEZEIT pigments. Not for floors, kitchen worktops or exterior use.

Geeignete Untergründe

Untreated, lightly stressed wood indoors. Not for floors, kitchen worktops or exterior use.

Anwendung & Verarbeitung

Preparation: Sand the wood (P 100–120) and remove the dust.

Application: Work in thinly with a cloth (for large areas, brush on diluted 1:1 with balsamic turpentine oil), allow to soak in, remove excess. Normally 2 applications. Safflower oil dries more slowly – allow for longer drying times between coats.

Polishing: Once surface-dry, buff with a soft cloth or pad.

Tools & cleaning: Cloth, brush; clean tools with gum turpentine.

When do I use Saflor Lappenwachs instead of Lappenwachs?
Whenever the surface is to remain light or is tinted with titanium white – safflower oil hardly yellows.

How do I apply it?
Apply thinly with a cloth, allow to soak in, remove any excess and buff once it has begun to dry. Because it dries more slowly, allow longer intervals between coats.

No. Use a KREIDEZEIT floor hard oil instead.
