Free lime gives lime-based mortars their flexibility and the ability to self-heal micro-cracks.

The good vapour permeability of Saint-Astier® limes allows moisture exchange between inside and outside, thereby reducing the risk of mould and contributing to a balanced indoor climate and greater room comfort.

Resistant to sulphates and salts

The absence of any additives such as gypsum or cement makes expansion due to sulphates and alkali reactions impossible. Salts present in the existing structure can migrate and eventually be removed. Saint-Astier® limes are excellently suited for use in marine environments.
