Why should it be Saint Astier® NHL?
Saint-Astier® natural hydraulic lime is produced from limestone that is unique in Europe and has exceptional mineralogical properties that have remained unchanged since the underground quarry was first exploited.
Natural purity
No additives are used in the production of Saint-Astier® pure natural hydraulic limes.
Double setting
Saint-Astier® limes are both hydraulic (setting on contact with water) and carbonising (hardening on contact with air).
No additives required
The range of pure natural hydraulic limes from Saint-Astier® allows you to choose the lime best suited to your work, without any added cement, plasticisers, water retention agents, water-repellent substances, etc.
Compatibility and suitability
The wide range of Saint-Astier® limes with guaranteed properties offers the best compatibility of mortars with existing substrates, regardless of their age.
Contains free lime Ca(OH)2
Free lime gives mortar based on natural lime its smoothness and the ability to repair microcracks independently.
Wide range of applications
Construction and plastering mortar, grouting, injections, lime mortar, mixing with hemp or flax and coatings are all possible with Saint-Astier® pure natural hydraulic limes.
Good water vapour permeability
The good water vapour permeability of Saint-Astier® limes enables hydraulic exchange from the inside and outside, thereby reducing mould growth and improving air quality and room comfort.
Resistant to sulphates and salts
The absence of any additives such as gypsum or cement makes expansion due to sulphates and alkali reactions impossible. Salts present in the existing structure can migrate and eventually be removed. Saint-Astier® limes are ideal for use in maritime environments.
