Clay paint
It doesn't get any easier
Clay paint is not only easy to work with, it is also made exclusively from natural ingredients. The colors are created by adding clay and clay minerals; ultramarine blue is used for the blue tones. Natural colors create a pleasantly calm, harmonious and healthy climate in our rooms. The cloth-matt surface of a clay paint gives the room a subtle liveliness in the paintwork and does not yellow.
Apply clay paint with a paint roller or a glazing brush, or spray it onto the dry, clean, firm and sufficiently absorbent substrate. Two coats are usually required.
Lime paint
The right mix
In damp rooms, only lime-based paints or silicate paints should be used. Lime paints are purely mineral and alkaline due to their lime content. Mould does not settle on alkaline substrates. The binders in casein paints, on the other hand, are plant-based and can be prone to mould under constant moisture.
Lime paint is available in many ready-mixed shades, or it can be tinted with lime-fast pigments entirely to suit your individual taste.
All mineral and plant-based paints sold at Lehm-Laden are fully declared and assessed as unobjectionable both in terms of health and from a building-biology perspective. Thanks to their unobjectionable ingredients, these paints contribute to a pleasant indoor climate. Lime paint has a fresh, clean smell.
Silicate paint
Naturally firm
Silicate paints are the robust ones among natural paints, both indoors and outdoors.
They are coatings that use, as their binder, potassium water glass
use. They are also known as water glass paints or Keim paints (after their inventor, Adolf Wilhelm Keim).
The silicate paints from our manufacturer BEECK contain no preservatives or solvents, which, among other things, contributes to a comfortable, balanced indoor climate.
Silicate paints offer high opacity, are vapour-permeable and non-combustible, and reduce the risk of mould. They are extremely weather-resistant and durable and are often used as a finish on clay or lime plaster (particularly in the conservation of listed buildings).
Very strong colours can be achieved with silicate paints.
Emulsion paint
Remarkably versatile
Natural resin emulsion paints combine the easy application of classic emulsion paints with a selection of plant-based raw materials. Plant oils and resins are used as binders. They are particularly suitable for interior walls and ceilings and create pleasantly natural, matt surfaces.
The paints from BEECK and AURO are vapour-permeable and allow good water vapour exchange. Depending on the product, they also offer high opacity and good abrasion resistance.
This makes natural resin emulsion paints a good choice if you value easy application, fully declared materials and a natural surface finish.
