Concrete/stone glaze
Semi-transparent active silicate glaze for mineral surfaces. Consumption: approx. 0.10 l / m² glaze, with BEECK SOL-Fix
Beton-/ Steinlasur
• For interior and façade use
• BEECK ASF® Active Silicate Formulation
• Highly economical and strongly pigmented
• Non-film-forming, can be overglazed almost any number of times
• Maximum lightfastness and UV resistance, shading suitable for listed buildings
• Weathers through slight surface chalking
• Non-combustible
• Inherent alkalinity reduces the risk of algae and mould
Silicifying dispersion silicate glaze system in accordance with VOB/C DIN 18363 2.4.1 for interior and exterior use.
With an opaque base formulation that can be thinned to any desired glaze strength, BEECK Beton-/Steinlasur offers unlimited design possibilities: cloudy to homogeneous application styles with high transparency and brilliance in both monochrome and polychrome colour schemes. Suitable for mineral plaster, external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) and fair-faced concrete.
Visually striking substrates such as fair-faced concrete cast in rough-sawn formwork or neatly pointed facing masonry can be incorporated directly as the glaze base, leaving the stone texture visible. Also ideally suited for colour refreshing and retouching of brick and natural stone in stone restoration work. Through
silicification, the chemical reaction between the mineral substrate, pigments and potassium water glass, no surface film is formed; instead, a microporous, inseparable bond between substrate and coating is created.
Verarbeitung von BETON-/STEINLASUR
• Two to three translucent glaze coats of BEECK Beton-/Steinlasur. On freely exposed and prestigious façades, and where there is no roof overhang, e.g. on fair-faced concrete walls, three glaze coats are required.
• Full-surface base coat of BEECK Quarzfüller, except where a glaze through which the substrate remains visible is desired, e.g. on intact fair-faced concrete or natural stone. An opaque primer coat may also be applied with BEECK Beton-/Steinlasur if no slurry effect is desired or required.
• Dilute BEECK Beton-/Steinlasur by adding BEECK SOL-Fixativ, adjusting it optimally to the substrate, application and desired glaze intensity. Mixtures of approx. 1:5 to 1:20 produce the glaze effects customary in practice. Greater dilutions lead to premature weathering and loss of colour on exterior surfaces.
• Silicate glazing techniques are visually demanding. Ensure qualified application, suitable substrates and careful pretreatment. Prepare sample areas of the coating build-up, glaze setting and working technique under site conditions.
• A final long-term preservation treatment with BEECK BS Plus increases durability on solid rendered façades.
