Can a tool do more than just work?

High-quality tools for clay construction: durability and precision in craftsmanship

Tools, a popular topic of debate. It is usually clear which tools are best suited for which tasks. But the choice of equipment for one and the same application is often unmanageably large: from loveless cheap junk from the Far East to high-quality manufactured professional tools, DIY shops and specialist tool shops offer equipment for construction and trades in a wide range of quality levels (well, the DIY shop goods usually only meet the lowest quality standards and demands). But if you work on building sites every day, you don't want to be bothered with scratching trowels, oozing mixers and hairy brushes.

It is our concern to offer the widest possible range of natural products in the field of construction and handicrafts, and we cannot and do not want to avoid the topic of tools. It has something to do with appreciation and respect to invest in good tools and to maintain and care for them properly: Appreciation and respect for the producing hand, the work expended, the resources necessary for it - just as you and I as craftsmen and craftswomen want to be appreciated for our work. We want to counter the unfortunate trend of buying cheap junk and trading it in for the next piece of junk after the first defect occurs early on. All the tools we offer have been tested in our daily work - and found to be good in terms of handling, longevity, durability in continuous use and quality of workmanship. In Lehm-Laden, you can only buy tools that we would use ourselves with pleasure and a clear conscience and for which care creates real value retention. Because: even if a small brush, a small jointing trowel is not as expensive as a plastering machine, such small items still have to be produced at a cost in terms of materials and energy and logistically brought to you. And it is precisely with these factors that we should be mindful, especially on a large scale, but also on a small scale.
