Conluto undercoat plaster

Processing Conluto undercoat plaster
Base plaster is always used where a large amount of clay has to be applied. Wall heating systems are usually plastered with a total of at least 3 cm of clay. A base plaster is ideal here.
Uneven walls, as are common in older buildings, can be made approximately straight again with base plaster. It helps here that the base plaster can be applied 3 cm thick in a single coat.
Especially with such thick layers of clay, care should be taken to ensure rapid drying so that no white mould can form.
The earth-moist clay base plaster is premixed with chopped straw. The storage life is therefore somewhat shorter. The base plaster should be used up within 2 years. The straw may begin to decompose slightly; the clay is then still usable.
