The adhesive and reinforcing mortar from Conluto is a clay plaster with plant fibres that has been improved in its adhesion and surface strength with a proportion of cellulose and plant starch..
The adhesive and reinforcing mortar is used to bond the boards to a flat substrate. Internal insulation must always be installed without any cavities. This ensures reliable moisture transport through the structure. Therefore, the substrate beneath an insulation board is leveled with a base coat so that the clay adhesive mortar, applied in a thin layer on the back of the board, bonds the board securely and without cavities.
It is important that the adhesive layer beneath the insulation board is thin to ensure proper drying. If the insulation board is bonded with a thick layer of clay plaster, there is a risk that it will remain wet for too long, causing the back of the board to soften and mold.
The application of clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar on clay boards
On the surface, the clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar primarily serves a reinforcing function. Modified with plant starch and cellulose, the reinforcing mortar provides a durable surface even in very thin layers. Alternatively, if at least 1 cm of base coat is applied, a 3 mm layer of reinforcing mortar is also sufficient to create a similarly strong surface. The drying process of such a thin clay layer is naturally much faster. As a result, the overall construction progress is significantly quicker.
For clay construction boards, usually only the joints are filled with the reinforcing mortar. The reinforcing mesh is then fully embedded using the same clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar (LKA). The finished surface is typically finished with a fine plaster or topcoat.
Clay construction boards can also be bonded to a stable substrate. For this, only a comb trowel application of the adhesive mortar is required.Lehmbauplatten können auch auf einen tragfähigen Untergrund geklebt werden. Hierfür wird lediglich eine Kammspachtelung mit dem Klebemörtel vorgenommen.
