Adhesion Primer, coarse No. 506

AURO Haftgrund gekörnt Nr. 506 is the answer for all difficult substrates: a primer with a distinct grain, manufactured without added preservatives, that helps subsequent coats adhere better – for interior and exterior use.

The biogenic binder REPLEBIN®, developed in-house by AURO research, ensures professional product properties. The primer is vapour-permeable, low-emission and odour-neutral.

Use & Application

Indoors, a single coat applied by brush or roller before the actual painting is sufficient. Outdoors, apply two coats – the primer can then be overpainted, e.g. with AURO Profi-Kalkfarbe Nr. 344. It can be recoated after 4 to 6 hours.

Tip: The bonding primer is also available in a fine version (No. 505). Whether the fine or grained variant is the right choice depends on the desired surface texture of the subsequent coat.

Frequently asked questions

When do I need a bonding primer?

On difficult, smooth or low-absorbency substrates, the bonding primer ensures reliable adhesion of the subsequent coat – it is the problem-solver wherever painting directly would otherwise result in poor adhesion.

Fine or granular – which version do I need?

This depends on the desired surface texture of the subsequent coat: No. 506 (grained) for a more textured surface, No. 505 (fine) for a smoother surface.

Can I use any AURO wall paint afterwards?

Yes, the bonding primer can be overcoated with all AURO wall paints and plasters, e.g. outdoors with Professional Lime Paint No. 344.

How many coats do I need to apply?

Indoors, one coat is usually sufficient; outdoors, two coats should be applied.

How long do I need to wait before painting over it?

The bonding primer can be overcoated after 4 to 6 hours.

Can I tint the bonding primer?
