HP 9 F natural lime base coat plaster, fine
Area of application:
HP 9 is used as a base coat plaster for interior and exterior applications (including damp rooms), particularly for house building with mineral building materials such as lime and clay. Please note for exterior use: HP 9 is not water-repellent.
Composition:
HP 9 is a mineral factory-made dry mortar of mortar group P Ic according to DIN 18557 and DIN 18550, based on natural hydraulic lime, limestone and quartz sand and a small addition of cellulose. HP9 contains no synthetic binders, is highly vapour-permeable (water vapour diffusion resistance factor µ = 6) and, with a pH value of 11–13 (9–11 in the long term), creates conditions unfavourable to mould growth.
Application:
HP 9 can be processed with all standard plastering machines and conveyed in all common pumping systems. Please refer to the machine manufacturer's operating instructions. For manual application, mix the contents of the bag with approx. 7 l of water/bag in a free-fall mixer, pan mixer or with a paddle mixer. The plaster thickness is 20 mm externally and 15 mm internally. After application, HP 9 is levelled with a darby. Work room by room. Remove any sinter skin that may form. Areas with increased application thickness as well as concrete or Styrodur surfaces coated with lime bonding plaster must be given a spatterdash coat. Only finish once the plaster has stiffened. The finished plaster should be left for at least 1 day/mm of application thickness before it is painted with mineral paint (e.g. HP 9000 lime casein paint, HP 9100 lime putty paint) or covered with a mineral finishing plaster (e.g. HP 90 fine lime plaster, HP 900 lime smoothing finish). In certain cases (e.g. excess thickness, old buildings, unfavourable weather conditions etc.) a longer standing time is necessary.
