Pigment ultramarine blue
Lightfast earth, mineral and spinel pigments for tinting KREIDEZEIT wall paints, plasters, oil paints, oil glazes, waxes and wall glazes. Alkali-resistant, lightfast and lime-fast, intermixable, indefinitely stable when stored dry.
KREIDEZEIT earth, mineral and spinel pigments are used for tinting KREIDEZEIT wall paints, plasters, oil paints, oil glazes, waxes and wall glazes. All pigments are lightfast and can be blended harmoniously with one another.
Earth pigments such as ochre (a weathering product of iron-bearing rock formed in nature; colouring agent: hydrated iron oxide), red ochre (burnt yellow ochre) and Terra di Siena are naturally occurring coloured earths. Iron oxide pigments (yellow, orange, red, brown, black) are synthetic, very finely divided iron oxides with high tinting strength. Spinel pigments (blue, green, turquoise, mint etc.) are heat-stable mixed-oxide ceramics. Umber shades are naturally occurring earths containing iron and manganese.

Geeignete Untergründe
As a tinting pigment for KREIDEZEIT wall paints, plasters, oil paints, oil glazes, waxes, wall glaze binder and GekkkoSOL products.
Anwendung & Verarbeitung
Water-based products: First mix the pigment into a lump-free slurry with a little water, then stir it into the wall paint, wall glaze, plaster or wax. The maximum permissible quantity is given in the product information for the respective coating.
GekkkoSOL products: Make a slurry of the pigment with a little GekkkoSOL thinner (not with water), then stir it in.
Oil-based products: Make a paste of the pigment with a little oil or gum turpentine, then stir it into oil paint, oil glaze, hard oil or wax.
Colour charts: For guide values and shades, see the KREIDEZEIT colour fan ‘Wandfarben & Putze’ (Wall Paints & Plasters) and the colour card ‘Weitere Pigmente’ (Further Pigments). On-screen colour representations are for rough guidance only.

Häufige Fragen
What do I use to make a pigment slurry?
For water-based products, use water; for GekkkoSOL, use GekkkoSOL Thinner; for oil-based products, use oil or balsamic turpentine oil. Always mix into a lump-free slurry first, then stir in.
How much pigment can I add?
This varies depending on the coating (e.g. wall paint up to 10 %, plasters up to 5 %). The exact maximum quantity is given in the product information for the respective product.
Can I mix pigments?
Yes, the earth and mineral pigments can be freely mixed with one another. However, do not mix pearlescent pigments with earth/mineral pigments.
How long do pigments keep?
Practically indefinitely if stored dry and sealed.
Why do the colours shown online differ?
Monitors and printers can only approximate pigment colours. For a definitive colour choice, use the KREIDEZEIT colour fan or colour cards with original paint samples.
