KREIDEZEIT Versilberungslasur is a silver-grey, translucent, biocide-free coating, particularly for rough-sawn and brushed exterior wood surfaces: timber cladding, beams, fences, play equipment, carports and timber decking.

It gives wood the appearance of weathered, silvered softwood and gradually weathers away at the surface, creating an almost seamless transition to the natural patina. Not suitable for dimensionally stable timber components such as windows and doors.

    Frequently asked questions

What does the silvering glaze do?
It instantly gives rough-sawn softwood the silver-grey appearance of naturally weathered timber and allows it to age evenly.

Can I paint windows with it?
No. It is not suitable for dimensionally stable components such as windows and doors. For these, use KREIDEZEIT stand oil paint or wood glaze.

How often do I need to recoat?
This depends on weathering. The glaze weathers away at the surface; cleaning and applying a thin recoat is sufficient.
