The book is THE guide to clay and lime plaster
Mixing mortar, plastering walls, creating decorative surface finishes.
Clay and lime are traditional materials that are highly valued in building biology and are also available regionally. For this reason, they have been used increasingly again for years. The two authors, who have long practical experience, show in detail which plaster build-up is appropriate for each application and how clay and lime plaster mortars are produced and applied.
The treatment and care of surfaces as well as the design of plastered surfaces through texturing, smoothing, colouring and decorative elements are also clearly illustrated. Numerous photos and drawings document the various plastering techniques, show completed projects and provide ideas for designing your own home.
The book is aimed at anyone who wishes to apply plasters using the natural building materials clay and lime, both professionals and skilled DIY enthusiasts.
The authors: Irmela Fromme is a specialist in clay and fine plasters with more than 25 years of practical experience. While experimenting with and researching clay as a building material, she has rediscovered forgotten techniques and developed and refined her own methods. As a lecturer, she has been passing on her knowledge to professionals and non-specialists for many years.
Uta Herz, Dipl.-Ing. in civil engineering, has been working with nature-oriented building since the start of her professional career and for almost 15 years has headed the European Training Centre for Earth Building of FAL e.V. in Ganzlin/Mecklenburg.
