Why should it be NHL from Saint Astier®?
Saint-Astier® natural hydraulic lime is produced from a limestone unique in Europe and has exceptional mineralogical properties that have remained unchanged since quarrying began in the underground quarry.
Pure raw materials
No additives are added during the production of Saint-Astier® natural hydraulic limes.
Dual setting
Saint-Astier® limes are both hydraulic (setting on contact with water) and carbonating (hardening on contact with air).
No additives required
The Saint-Astier® range of natural hydraulic limes lets you choose the lime best suited to your work, with no added cement, plasticisers, water-retaining agents, water repellents, etc.
Compatibility and suitability
The wide range of Saint-Astier® limes with guaranteed properties gives mortars the best compatibility with existing substrates, whatever their age.
Contains free lime Ca(OH)2
Free lime gives mortars based on natural lime their flexibility and their ability to self-heal micro-cracks.
Wide range of applications
Masonry and rendering/plastering mortars, grouting, injections, lime mortars, mixes with hemp or flax, and limewashes are all possible with Saint-Astier® natural hydraulic limes.
Good water vapour permeability
The good vapour permeability of Saint-Astier® limes allows moisture exchange between inside and outside, reducing the risk of mould and contributing to a balanced indoor climate and greater comfort.
Resistant to sulphates and salts
The absence of any additives such as gypsum or cement makes sulphate expansion and alkali reactions impossible. Salts present in the existing structure can migrate and eventually be removed. Saint-Astier® limes are ideally suited for use in marine environments.
