Contains free lime Ca(OH)2

Free lime gives mortars based on natural lime their flexibility and their ability to self-heal micro-cracks.

Masonry and rendering/plastering mortars, grouting, injections, lime mortars, mixes with hemp or flax, and limewashes are all possible with Saint-Astier® natural hydraulic limes.

The good vapour permeability of Saint-Astier® limes allows moisture exchange between inside and outside, reducing the risk of mould and contributing to a balanced indoor climate and greater comfort.

Resistant to sulphates and salts

The absence of any additives such as gypsum or cement makes sulphate expansion and alkali reactions impossible. Salts present in the existing structure can migrate and eventually be removed. Saint-Astier® limes are ideally suited for use in marine environments.
