Reed insulation mats are made from individual reed stalks that are pressed and bound every 14–18 cm with galvanised wire applied on both sides. The lightweight boards are used as a plaster base. They are easy to plaster and offer good insulation value. Wall heating can easily be attached to the wires using cable ties. On timber, the lightweight boards are fixed with standard timber construction screws and washers. On solid masonry, the boards are bonded with clay and secured with dowels.
