Stucco Fine
Particularly easy-to-use lime stucco for very fine stucco work on smooth substrates in interiors. Two wafer-thin coats already give glazing depth; water-repellent after treatment with KREIDEZEIT smoothing soap. Without titanium white, vegan. Coverage: approx. 150–200 g powder/m² for the first coat, approx. 50–80 g/m² for subsequent coats – 2.5 kg ≈ 8 m², 5 kg ≈ 16.5 m², 10 kg ≈ 33 m².
KREIDEZEIT Stucco Fein is a particularly easy-to-apply lime filler for fine stucco work on interior walls and ceilings. Just two wafer-thin coats create a glaze-like, deep transparency.
After treatment with KREIDEZEIT smoothing soap, the surface becomes water-repellent and can therefore also be used in damp rooms (not in areas exposed to constant wetting). A high gloss can be achieved with KREIDEZEIT Punic wax.
Properties
- Powder for mixing with water, white shade, easy to apply
- vapour-permeable: sd value < 0.1 m (DIN EN ISO 12572)
- strongly alkaline (fresh application pH > 12.5)
- high degree of whiteness thanks to fine marble powders, without titanium white
- water-repellent after treatment with KREIDEZEIT smoothing soap
- high-gloss after treatment with KREIDEZEIT Punic Wax
- odourless once cured
- vegan
Suitable substrates
Untreated, smooth, slightly absorbent plaster substrates: lime, lime-cement, cement and gypsum plasters. Ideal on KREIDEZEIT Lime Smoothing Plaster or Lime Bonding Plaster -fine-. Unsuitable: distemper, oil paints, latex paints, synthetic coatings, wood, metal, smooth or permanently damp surfaces.
Use & Application
Priming / levelling the texture: Prime plasters, fillers, drywall boards and concrete with Casein Primer or Vega Primer. Skim rough substrates, plasterboard and gypsum fibreboard with KREIDEZEIT Lime Smoothing Plaster and sand if necessary.
Mixing: Stir 500–550 ml of water per kg of powder until free of lumps and leave to swell for at least 20 minutes; ideally mix the day before and cover.
Application: Minimum application temperature 8 °C. Two or more thin layers; apply the first layer over the entire surface in the desired shade and allow to dry. Apply subsequent layers over the entire surface or using a spot-trowelling technique. Compress only the final layer to a sheen with the Venetian trowel.
Soaping: Shortly after, and no later than 24 hours after, the final coat, apply a generous coat of KREIDEZEIT smoothing soap, allow it to take up briefly, then burnish with the trowel. This forms a water-insoluble lime soap with a higher sheen that repels dirt and water.

Frequently asked questions
Can I carry out the technique myself?
Lime filler and smoothing techniques take practice. Prepare a test area beforehand; for demanding projects we recommend a training course or an experienced applicator.
Which primer / which base plaster do I need?
As a rule, Vega Primer or Casein Primer and a smooth skim coat of KREIDEZEIT Lime Smoothing Plaster or Lime Bonding Plaster -fine-. The texture of the base plaster will show through.
Is the surface waterproof?
After treatment with KREIDEZEIT Smoothing Soap, the surface becomes water-repellent (not waterproof) and less prone to soiling, also in damp rooms (not areas exposed to permanent wetness).
What can I use for tinting?
Lime-resistant KREIDEZEIT earth and mineral pigments. The maximum permissible quantity is given in the Technical Data.
