KREIDEZEIT Stuccolustro weiß is a purely lime-based filler for high-quality, traditional trowelled finishing techniques on interior walls and ceilings. It can be used to create surfaces with the lustre and depth of polished marble – either unpigmented white or tinted with up to 10% KREIDEZEIT pigments.

The two-coat spot trowelling and burnishing with firm pressure create the characteristic light/dark effects and the sheen. After treatment with KREIDEZEIT smoothing soap, the surface becomes water-repellent.

Suitable substrates

Sound mineral plasters, concrete, plasterboard, gypsum fibreboard. As a rule, prime with Vega Grundierung or casein primer and apply a smooth skim coat of KREIDEZEIT Kalkglätte or Kalk Haftputz -fein-. Unsuitable: distempers, oil paints, latex paints, synthetic coatings, wood, metal, smooth or permanently damp surfaces.

Use & Application

Priming / levelling the texture: Prime and apply a smooth skim coat of KREIDEZEIT Lime Smoothing Plaster or Lime Bonding Plaster -fine-, allow to firm up, then smooth again (can be sanded once dry). The texture of the base coat will show through in the surface.

Mixing: Stir 450 ml of water per kg of powder until free of lumps, then continue stirring for 3 minutes and leave to swell for at least 30 minutes; ideally mix the day before and cover.

Application: Minimum application temperature 8 °C. Two thin layers. Apply the first layer over the entire surface without compacting, then wait at least 3 hours. Apply the second layer thinly using a spot-trowelling technique and smooth firmly; burnish with firm pressure using a spring steel or Venetian trowel to create light/dark effects and sheen.

Soaping: As soon as the Stuccolustro shows light patches throughout, apply KREIDEZEIT smoothing soap and burnish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I carry out the technique myself?
Lime filler and smoothing techniques take practice. Prepare a test area beforehand; for demanding projects we recommend a training course or an experienced applicator.

Which primer / which base plaster do I need?
As a rule, Vega Primer or Casein Primer and a smooth skim coat of KREIDEZEIT Lime Smoothing Plaster or Lime Bonding Plaster -fine-. The texture of the base plaster will show through.

Is the surface waterproof?
After treatment with KREIDEZEIT Smoothing Soap, the surface becomes water-repellent (not waterproof) and less prone to soiling, also in damp rooms (not areas exposed to permanent wetness).

What can I use for tinting?
Lime-resistant KREIDEZEIT earth and mineral pigments. The maximum permissible quantity is given in the Technical Data.
