Application
- Store and install wood fibre impact sound insulation in dry conditions
- Lay in one or two layers with staggered joints, maximum build-up thickness 60 mm (see insulation build-up table)
- For thicker insulation build-ups, use GUTEX Thermosafe-wd (max. 100 mm)
- Create a dry, level and technically sound substrate
- If required, install a damp-proof membrane (DIN 18195) below the insulation layer
- For timber joist ceilings, use anti-trickle paper
- Fit edge strips to the height of the entire build-up
- Cut with the GUTEX cutting blade for jigsaws or with a hand-held circular saw with dust extraction
- Dust extraction in accordance with BG regulations; observe the provisions of TR GS 553
- Lay impact sound insulation boards in a staggered bond. The offcut from one row is placed at the start of the next
- row (see laying pattern). Fit edge strips to the height of the entire build-up
- For wet screeds: lay a damp-proof membrane over the installed impact sound insulation boards
