Japanese smoothing trowel

This rectangular plastering trowel made of Aburayaki steel works well with stiff, sticky material, which is easy to spread thanks to the flexibility of the trowel. After forging, this steel is hardened twice and oiled, and it is softer than Honyaki steel. This trowel is a handcrafted quality product by the Japanese master blacksmith Yamanishi-San. Excellently suited to applying and smoothing lime plasters in particular. The trowel is fitted with the classic European handle. In terms of workmanship and material quality, this trowel is every bit the equal of its Japanese counterpart. It is available in lengths of 330 and 360 mm.
