Product and application: Clay paint and clay roller plaster for interior use (not in splash-water areas). On clay plasters, mineral plasters, drywall boards and other standard building substrates.
Composition: water, marble powder (roller plaster with crushed limestone up to 1.0 mm), kaolin, clay, methylcellulose, chalk, titanium dioxide, talc, bentonite, preservative < 0.01 %*.
Consumption: Clay paint: 10 l for approx. 30 m² Coverage generally depends on the substrate and the tool used.
Storage: In sealed containers, the product can be stored for 9 months in a dry, cool (frost-free!) place. Reseal opened containers tightly and use them up promptly.
Substrate: The substrate must be dry, frost-free, load-bearing, firm, sufficiently rough and clean. Pre-treat sanding substrates with CLAYTEC Deep Primer and Consolidant (13.405, 13.400); this can also be used to even out substrates with differing absorbency. Pre-treat areas with bleed-through substances (e.g. rust, soot, nicotine, lignin or similar) with a stain-blocking primer and prepare a test area! Pre-treat gypsum plasterboards with plasterboard deep primer.
Application: Do not apply the finish at temperatures below 12°C. Stir the contents of the bucket thoroughly; up to 10% water can be added. Apply the material evenly with a roller (or with a brush). Clay roller plaster is generally applied approx. 0.5 mm thick to achieve a grainy surface finish. Ensure a supply of fresh air during application and drying. Only paint over areas that are still patchy or apply second coats once the previous coat has dried. Remove splashes etc. immediately with water and, if necessary, soap.
Working time: Clean material remains workable for approx. 14 days.
