How to apply deco clay facing plaster correctly
The clay fine-finish plaster is applied in a thin layer using a Japanese fine-finish trowel or a stainless steel trowel – to a maximum thickness of 2 mm. Once the surface has set to a leather-like consistency, it can be further finished depending on the desired effect: either by buffing with a damp felt board or by compacting with a smoothing trowel.
The finish determines the final appearance of the surface. Surfaces treated with a plastering board have a softer, more handcrafted look, whilst smoothed or compacted surfaces appear calmer and more refined. The deco clay facing plaster develops its full colour depth and characteristic clay texture once it has dried completely.
