Straw board

Straw boards are plaster base boards made from pressed straw and a binder. The Conluto straw building boards are easy to install and fully Cradle to Cradle compatible. The boards can be cut to the required size with standard tools such as a circular saw or jigsaw. They are easy to fix with screws or staples and offer an alternative to conventional building materials.​

Straw board for interior fit-out

The 22 mm boards are screwed as plaster base boards onto a continuous substrate or onto a substructure with 31.25 cm centres. The 30 mm board can be fixed onto a continuous substrate or onto a substructure with 62.5 cm centres. Both boards can be installed on walls and ceilings. The plaster build-up consists of clay adhesive and reinforcing mortar with mesh, followed by fine plaster. Alternatively, apply wall and ceiling primer, then base coat plaster up to 15 mm with mesh, followed by fine plaster.
