In addition to water-based systems, there are also electrically operated heating surfaces (also known as infrared heating). The electric climate panels are used to support the existing heating system or as the sole source of heating. As they contain no water as a heating medium (no risk of frost), they are particularly suitable for use in rooms or buildings that are only used occasionally, e.g. holiday homes or event venues. Installation is simple: the climate panels are screwed onto flat substrates such as solid timber walls, timber boarding and board materials, or onto stud frameworks. The areas not covered with wall heating panels are filled with WEM clay building boards. The entire surface is then skimmed with WEM clay finishing plaster and reinforced with glass-fibre mesh in the process. The finished surface can then be painted, e.g. with WEM FarbTon clay paint. With the WEM Klimaelement, wall heating can be installed quickly and conveniently using dry construction. Compared with plastered systems, only very little water is introduced into the building fabric. Long drying times are eliminated.
