KREIDEZEIT Standölfarbe is a resin-free, biocide-free oil paint for wood indoors and especially outdoors. It remains elastic and does not flake or crack; instead, it weathers gradually at the surface and can be renovated by cleaning and overpainting. Only lightfast, weather-resistant earth and mineral pigments are used for pigmentation.

The coating system follows the “lean to rich” (fat over lean) principle: 1. primer oil, 2. stand oil paint -semi-rich- (Art. 442, silk matt to silk gloss, good filling effect), 3. stand oil paint -full-rich- (Art. 443, glossy finishing coat). For a lower sheen, two coats of -semi-rich- can be applied. Available in 14 intermixable standard shades, special shades on request.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between semi-fat and full-fat?
-semi-fat- (Art. 442) has a silk-matt to silk-gloss finish with good filling properties and is used for primer and intermediate coats. -full-fat- (Art. 443) is the glossy top coat. For less gloss, apply two coats of -semi-fat-.

What is the coating build-up?
Three coats, “fat over lean”: priming oil, then -medium-fat-, then -full-fat-. Apply each coat thinly and allow it to dry through completely.

Can I paint over old oil paint?
Yes, old oil and alkyd resin coatings, following the test instructions “Testing Existing Coatings”. Not on acrylic-based or soft synthetic resin coatings.

How do I maintain stand oil paint outdoors?
Check regularly and refresh with KREIDEZEIT maintenance oil when the gloss fades – this postpones the renovation coat by years.
