KREIDEZEIT Clay Brush-on Plaster is an easy-to-apply, fine-grained brush-on plaster for interior walls and ceilings. White clay and light marble sands create a finely textured, matt surface with the look of clay.

Mix with water; can be tinted with KREIDEZEIT earth and mineral pigments. For damp rooms, we recommend KREIDEZEIT Slaked Lime Paint – filled.

Geeignete Untergründe

Indoors on all sound, absorbent plasters (clay, lime, gypsum, cement), fillers, woodchip wallpaper, pure paper wallpapers, paper-based non-woven wallpaper, plasterboard, gypsum fibreboard and concrete. On firmly adhering, matt, absorbent emulsion paints after a test area.

Anwendung & Verarbeitung

Priming: Prime plasters, fillers, drywall boards, concrete and old emulsion paints with KREIDEZEIT Vega Primer or Casein Primer. Do not prime paper-based non-woven lining/paper wallpapers.

Mixing: Stir in 0.70–0.75 litres of cold water per kg of powder until free of lumps, leave to swell for at least 30 minutes, then stir again.

Application: Minimum application temperature 8 °C. Two coats are usually required. When brushing, use criss-cross strokes and create textures as desired; when rolling, apply generously in a criss-cross pattern and lay off in one direction. Use mixed material on the same day.

Drying: Can be overcoated after approx. 8 hours, fully dry after approx. 24 hours (20 °C, 65 % relative humidity).

Tools & cleaning: Medium-pile polyamide rollers and wall brushes, airless from 200 bar. Clean tools immediately with water.

How much paint do I need?
The consumption is given in the Technical Data (g of powder per m² per coat). Two coats are generally needed for full opacity – so plan for twice the quantity.

Does the substrate need to be primed?
Pre-coat plasters, fillers, drywall boards, concrete and old emulsion paints with KREIDEZEIT Vega Primer or Casein Primer. Paper-based non-woven and paper wallpapers are not primed.

Can I tint the paint myself?
Yes, with KREIDEZEIT earth and mineral pigments. Stir the pigments into the mixing water until free of lumps, or add them as a slurry to the fully swollen paint. The maximum permissible quantity is given in the technical data.

Is the paint suitable for bathrooms and kitchens?
For damp areas and areas exposed to splash water, we recommend KREIDEZEIT Slaked Lime Paint – filled. This paint is intended for living rooms and bedrooms under normal use, hallways and ceilings.

How long does the mixed paint keep?
Use mixed paint on the same day (distemper 2–3 days). Small leftover quantities can be frozen for later touch-ups. Do not use paint that smells putrid.
