    Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pre-treat the rebate?
Yes. Pre-coat the glazing rebate with boiled linseed oil or primer oil so that the wood does not draw the oil out of the putty.

Do I need to paint over the putty?
Outdoors, yes – once the surface has dried, with KREIDEZEIT exterior wood glaze or stand oil paint. Indoors, a coat of paint is not essential.

How long does linseed oil putty take to dry?
It becomes surface-dry within a few days and cures through over several weeks. The protective coat is applied once the surface has dried.
