The Lehmmuseum Gnevsdorf presents two themed special exhibitions every year. The first issue of this series of publications appeared in 2011 on the occasion of a photo exhibition on clay vaults by Gernot Minke, one of the great pioneers of modern earth building in Germany. With the second issue, we would like to introduce the next generation of young architects, and engineers, who draw on their fascination with clay as a building material with a new awareness between tradition and modernity.
With
their work, they take the achievements of the pioneers of earth building to a new level.
The new DIN standards for earth building, which came into force
in August 2013, are a fine testament to this.
The authors: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Ziegert, Dip.-Ing. Uwe Seiler and
Eike Roswag Dipl.-Ing. Architekt BDA
This series of booklets shows in an aesthetic way how the development of
earth building today is seen by various designers.
The booklets are a real feast for the eyes, and you can tell that the authors'
hearts are truly in clay.
