Timber batten as a substructure for a wooden floor made of floorboards or panel material. The battens are slightly thinner than the laying boards. As a result, the batten does not rest on the subfloor, and this decoupling ensures excellent impact sound insulation. The load of the floor is distributed over the entire surface.
