Floats for clay plaster are used on the respective finishing plaster to make the plaster surface even and firm. The clay plaster is floated when leather-hard.
Floating moves the components of the clay plaster and interlocks them. The result is a firm surface that does not shed sand. The larger the float, the flatter the finish on the worked wall.
However, larger floats also require more practice. We offer our floats for clay plaster in four sizes, as well as a detail float and a darby.
