Schimmelknacker

KREIDEZEIT Schimmelknacker is a biocide-free, mineral treatment for affected surfaces: it encapsulates fungal spores and binds them permanently, mineralises the surface and gives it a long-lasting high alkalinity. This helps to inhibit the further spread of mould.

Schimmelknacker does not provide colour coverage and should be overpainted with KREIDEZEIT Lime Putty Paint when convenient. It adheres to almost any substrate – also suitable for treating affected cupboard back panels. The cause of the moisture must also be eliminated.

Suitable substrates

Untreated mineral plasters, concrete, stone, masonry, synthetic emulsion paints and firmly bonded wall paints based on natural raw materials.

Use & Application

On absorbent plaster: Dilute Schimmelknacker 1:1 with water and carefully apply one or two coats with a brush to the affected area and approx. 50 cm of the surrounding area.

On emulsion paints: Apply undiluted, carefully, with a brush.

Aftercare: Once dry, brush off any whitish efflorescence if necessary. When convenient, paint over the surface with KREIDEZEIT Slaked Lime Paint.

Temperature: Application and drying between 5 and 30 °C.

Frequently asked questions

How does Schimmelknacker work?

Do I need to paint over it?
Schimmelknacker is not opaque. When convenient, paint over it with KREIDEZEIT Slaked Lime Paint.
