Rammed earth natural, coarse

Claytec rammed earth, coarse

Ready-mixed rammed earth for walls and the base layer of floors. Rammed earth construction is earth building in its archaic and purest form. The raw material becomes the monolithic component directly. The main reason for the rediscovery of this old building technique lies in the aesthetic and architectural expressiveness of the heavy monolithic components and their surfaces.

Technical details

• Area of application: Rammed earth for load-bearing and non-load-bearing clay walls, as fine rammed earth for clay floors.

• Composition: Building clay, mixed-grain stony aggregates. Grain size 0-16 mm (oversize grains up to 22 mm possible).Rammed earth fine 02.008 grain size 0-8 mm (oversize grains up to 16 mm possible).

• Building material properties: Dry bulk density approx. 2,300 kg/m3 (thermal conductivity 1.5 W/mK, µ 5/10), compressive strength 2.0 N/mm2, shrinkage natural 0.5% (rammed earth white, yellow, red and grey, and 02.008 rammed earth fine 0.7%),

• Building material class: A1

• Supplied as: earth-moist in 1.0 t big bags

• Storage: Protect from drying out (lumping) and from getting soaked by the weather. The material can be stored for extended periods. Before starting work, check the moisture content and homogeneity (workability) of the building material.
