Rainproof sarking board for roof and wall

Gutex Ultratherm is the sarking board with a patented tongue-and-groove profile that combines maximum protection against the weather with excellent insulation performance. It is both rainproof and hail-resistant and reliably protects against cold and heat, thanks to its high heat storage capacity and low thermal conductivity, which allows constructions with a low build-up height. The vapour permeability and pronounced moisture storage capacity of the sarking board ensure building-physics safety in roof and wall and contribute to a balanced, moisture-regulating indoor climate.

  • Guaranteed rainproof with joint gaps of up to 3 mm thanks to patented tongue-and-comb profiling, plus a high insulation value
  • Highest hail protection class HW5 (TÜV-tested)
  • Can be left exposed to the weather for 3 months as a temporary roof

No chance of leaks at component junctions such as roof windows or chimneys

The Gutex Ultratherm sarking board stands out with a rainproof, robust edge profile that enables fast and reliable installation. The innovative tongue-and-groove joint directs any penetrating rainwater from the flush butt edge onto the bevelled board below. Thanks to this bevel, the water runs parallel to the rafters from ridge to eaves without being diverted sideways. Sideways diversion is a common problem with conventional profiles and can lead to unexpected leaks at junctions such as roof windows or chimneys. In addition, the tongue-and-groove joint provides a windtight seal and reliably protects the insulation construction against cold air. A handy marking on the tongue shows whether the boards are precisely fitted together, making quality control easier.

Rainproof underlay achieved simply by interlocking

From a roof pitch of 15° upwards, Ultratherm can be laid rainproof without additional covering or taping and requires no nail sealing to form a “seam- and perforation-secured sarking layer” in accordance with the ZVDH guidelines, as confirmed by Holzforschung Austria. The wood fibre board can be combined in different thicknesses, which, for example, allows the roof overhang to be over-insulated efficiently. Thanks to its dimensional accuracy and single-layer, homogeneous density profile, Ultratherm minimises thermal bridges and provides additional sound insulation.

Comprehensive guarantee

For Ultratherm, which is reliable in terms of building regulations and application, Gutex has lodged a guarantee with the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade (Zentralverband des Deutschen Dachdeckerhandwerks). In the event of a claim, it covers not only replacement material but also removal and installation costs as well as any scaffolding costs incurred.

  • Time-saving and secure installation without additional nail sealing tapes or taping, thanks to the windtight tongue-and-groove joint and quality marking
  • Can be combined in many ways in different thicknesses, ideal for insulating over roof overhangs
  • Additional sound and thermal insulation thanks to a homogeneous density profile and insulation material instead of a roofing underlay
