Technical details of clay masonry mortar, heavy

• Area of application: Masonry mortar for clay blocks and lightweight clay blocks of application class I or II. Not suitable as a plastering mortar or as a base material for producing plastering mortars. As a free-flowing loose fill, heavy clay masonry mortar (Lehm-Mauermörtel schwer) is also suitable as a filling compound for ceilings and similar building components.

• Composition: Raw building clay up to 5 mm, sand 0-2 mm. Aggregate size group, oversize grain according to DIN 0/4, < 8 mm.
• Building material values: Drying shrinkage < 2.5%. Strength class M3. Compressive strength 3.0 N/mm2. Initial shear strength 0.08 N/mm2. Bulk density class 2.0. Thermal conductivity 1.1 W/m∙K. µ-value 5/10. Building material class A1.
• Supply form, yield: Earth-moist 05.020 in 1.0 t big bags (yields 500 l of masonry mortar); earth-moist 05.220 in 0.5 t big bags (yields 250 l of masonry mortar)
• Application: The mortar is applied in accordance with the rules of the masonry trade. If lime plastering is planned, the joints should be raked out with sharp edges to a depth of approx. 0.3 cm.
• Material requirement: Depending on the block format and wall thickness, the mortar requirement in litres/m² is as follows

*When used as loose fill, bear in mind when calculating the material requirement that the material is compacted by approx. 15% during installation.
